About

Free events where anyone can bring clothing to be repaired by volunteers. Next event November 24th!

After being inspired by, and then connecting with the organizers of the free Clothing Repairathon events in Toronto (http://repairathon.com/), we are beginning the process of bringing this awesome concept to Edmonton.

The premise is simple: Did you find yourself tripping over your too-long pant cuffs at K-days? Do your favourite jeans have a hole in them? Is your lucky polo missing a button? Did the zipper on your jacket split open in the middle of the best set ever at the Interstellar Rodeo? WELL! Do not despair! And don’t you dare throw it out! Bring it in to one of our pop-up events and we will help you!

Project Goals (borrowed from Toronto’s project)
To promote, and enable, maintenance, and repair; in general, and of clothing in particular.
To encourage the teaching, and the learning of repair skills.
To reduce waste, and keep clothing out of the garbage.
To encourage people to value their clothing.
To increase the social acceptance of wearing repaired clothing.
To build community.
To have fun!

Contact us about volunteering of you would like to learn how, or can teach someone how, to repair clothing! We’ll take, and teach, whoever is willing!
